- Lot Description
One electronically tested 18KT white gold ladies cast and assembled tanzanite and diamond ring. Condition is new, good workmanship. The featured tanzanite is set within tiered diamond bezels supported by a ribbed under gallery and diamond set shoulders, completed by a three millimeter wide band. Bright polish finish. Trademark is UCG. Identified with markings of "18K 750". Containing: One prong set cushion modified brilliant cut natural tanzanite, measuring 13.39 x 9.80 x 5.82mm, exact weight 6.58ct., type I Clarity is eye clean, medium dark, very slightly grayish, blue-violet color, (GIA BV 6/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. GIA Gemological Report attached. Graded loose prior to setting in the GIA Laboratory, Report #2171872251. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany and Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, and green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Forty-two prong and channel set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.00 - 2.00 x 1.20mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 42 Stones = 1.23ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity SI-2 to I-2 Color G - H Twenty-four prong set baguette cut diamonds approximate total weight of 24 Stones = 1.01ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity VS-2 to SI-2 Color F - H Total Weight of Colored Stones 6.58ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 2.24ct. Total Weight of Ring 8.50 gm Size: 7
