World War II Imperial Japanese Army Arisaka Type 99 with bayonet (15.5" blade). The imperial chrysanthemum has been sanded off, indicating that this rifle was probably surrendered and not captured in the field. The arsenal of manufacture was Toyo Kogyo from 1939–1945. The rifle receiver is serialized 51766.
The stock is repaired, probably by the arsenal during the war with a typical combat issue stock crack. The bolt face is not corroded, and the bore and rifling is not shot-out and appears serviceable, although the headspace should be checked with a gauge before firing in the interest of safety. The original bluing is in good shape, and there is very minor rust on the bolt.
