- Lot Description
Original oil painting on board by listed artist, Raphael Lillywhite (CO, WY, AZ, 1891 - 1958), signed lower left. Features a stream side grove of aspen trees in the autumn. Art measures 30" h x 25" w presented in a frame measuring 36" x 31".
- Provenance
After his studies Lillywhite and his wife moved to Walden, Colorado where he painted scenes of ranch life and the Old West, an interest that began with his early exposure to the pack trains and Native Americans seen at his parent's trading post.
Here he found much of his inspiration for his ranch life and Western subject matter. From 1940-1942 he painted thirteen habitat backgrounds of bird and mammal groups for the Colorado Museum of Natural History.

We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
