- Lot Description
Includes the following Nazi medals: 1939 Second class Iron Cross, unmarked General Assault badge, and an Eastern Medal (Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/1942).
- Provenance
The Iron Cross Second Class was a military award given for acts of bravery in battle or other military contributions. The General Assault Badge was awarded for participation/support in infantry attacks that did not qualify for the Infantry Assault Badge. Also known as the Ostmedaille or Russian Front Medal, this medal was awarded to members of the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS who served on the German Eastern Front during the winter campaign of 1941–1942. It was also awarded posthumously to service members who died in the Soviet Union.

For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
