- Lot Description
Original oil painting on art board by listed artist, Martin Justice (CA, 1869-1961), signed lower right & dated 1946. Features a forested stream side landscape down a meandering path. Art measures 17.5" h x 13.5" w mounted in a frame measuring 24" x 20".
- Provenance
Illustrator, painter. Born in Wyoming, IA on April 4, 1869. Early in the century, Justice was in NYC where he was on the staff of the Saturday Evening Post. In 1925 he settled in Los Angeles and soon was associated with the movie industry as an artist and director. He died in Los Angeles on Oct. 3, 1961. Member: Society of Illustrators (NYC. We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house.
