Lithographic print on paper titled "Der Castle Im Yellowstone Park, Wyoming" originally by listed artist, Rudolf Daniel Ludwig Cronau (NY, Germany, 1855 - 1939). Art measures 11" h x 8" w, matter & presented in a frame measuring 21" x 17".
Most of Rudolf Cronau's work is in pencil, some in pen, and there are a few watercolors. Some of his drawings were transferred into collotypes, a photo printing process using gelatin. When Cronau returned to Germany in 1882, he published 50 collotypes in a book about his American visit entitled Wunderland to Wunderland. Cronau's drawings are noted for their detail and precise craftsmanship in the German romantic style of the Royal Academy in Düsseldorf.
Cronau's paintings are in the permanent collections of both the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (Fort Worth, Texas) and Thomas Gilcrease Museum (Tulsa, Oklahoma), while his drawings are in the Brooklyn Museum (New York) and Tucson Museum of Art (Arizona.)
We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
