Crook studied at the AIC and taught art in Chicago for more than ten years. He further studied at the Royal Academy in Berlin. By 1903 he had settled in Portland, OR; however, he made painting excursions to northern California, Washington, Canada, and Mexico. Although he worked in oil early in his career, he abandoned that medium for watercolor. A landscape painter, his works are distinguished by fogs and opalescent hues of hazy mornings and late afternoons. Member: Society of Oregon Artists; Pacific Art League. We offer in house shipping for the majority of the items that are sold in the auction. The exceptions being furniture, bulk or heavy items like marble statues or extremely fragile items. For these items, we recommend you work with a shipper. Shipping charges are not included in the winning hammer price. If you live over 4 hours from the auction house, we will assume that you would like your items shipped. Please let us know if you do not want them shipped if you are over 4 hours away from the auction house. The card that you registered with will be charged for all shipping charges and you will also receive an email with tracking information.
