John Weiss (American, 20th c.) Cincinnati Reds Baseball Players. Unique Color Photograph. Frontispiece photo from The Face of Baseball. With autographed copy of the book. Size: 28.25" x 41.25" (sight); 42.25" x 53.75" (frame).
John Weiss's photographs are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art and many other well-known museums. He has had 47 solo shows including exhibitions in Paris and Australia. This photograph was part of a 5 year project that resulted in a book called The Face of Baseball. The project was featured in many publications including LIFE magazine, which published a 6 page spread. The Face of Baseball was presented in a solo show at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
