- Lot Description
Yuka Saito received a degree in jewelry design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Saito's Spiced Flower jewels are precious reminders of memories, people, and places. "I use spices’ vibrant pigmentation to imbue color into my work and integrate the spice colors to the PCL (Polycaprolactone). Spices are continually added to the heated material, hand kneaded and rolled. The aroma and color of spices instantly revives my memories.” Her work is in the collections of the Swiss National Museum, Zurich; the Museum of Arts & Design, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Racine Art Museum; and the Kamm Teapot Foundation, NC.
