Yuka Saito received a degree in jewelry design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City. Saito's "Spiced Flower" jewels are precious reminders of memories, people, and places. Saito uses vibrant spices to color PCL (Polycaprolactone) in her work, allowing the aroma and hues to evoke memories and emotions. Each piece is hand-sculpted, and the semi-translucency of the material reveals the individual grains of spice, creating a tactile connection that celebrates life and invites viewers to reflect on their own memories. Her work is in the collections of the Swiss National Museum, Zurich; the Museum of Arts and Design, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Racine Art Museum; and the Kamm Teapot Foundation, NC.Exhibition Sponsor:
