Hiromi Suter was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan where her father is an award winning traditional handmade sweet maker. She is a graduate of Ritsumeikan University, Japan (BA, English and American literature). She grew up watching the process of candy making every day. Potentially an influence from her father’s work, she has been interested in hand made details since she was a child. She lived in England for a time and then moved to Massachusetts where she attended courses at the de Cordova Museum Metal and Jewelry Art Department, Lincoln MA (2007-2009) while raising her three children.Exhibition Sponsor:
