- Lot Description
Barbara Takengaga was the Mary A. and William Wirt Warren Professor of Art at Williams College from 1985 to 2018. She divides her time between Williamstown, MA, and New York City. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA; Museum of Contemporary Art Denver; National Academy Museum, New York; Asian Arts Initiative, Philadelphia; and International Print Center, NY. Takenaga is the recent recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, the Wauson Fellowship from the FOR-SITE Foundation, and the Eric Isenburger Annual Art Award from the National Academy Museum. Her work is in the permanent collections of The Ackland Art Museum, Chapel Hill; Arkansas Art Center; deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum; Museum of Nebraska Art; and the Frederick R.
