- Lot Description
Northern Plains Pipe with Quilled Stem Stem is 21" long, T-style catlinite carved bowl is 8" x 4". Belonged to Short Bear. His name is carved on the stem and shown on the reservation inventory sheet, which is included in the lot. 19th century. Includes custom stand. $2,000-3,000 Provenance: Ex. Private Collection, MT. Reservation inventory list featuring Short Bear's name.Quillwork shows some minor discoloration, pipe shows some abrasions and a couple chips on one end. End of stem shows a crack that runs through about halfway down the stem.
