This piece is a study done in 1935 as a preliminary to a large mural painting, which hangs in the Clubhouse of the Society of Illustrators in NYC, NY titled The Dover Stage. A collection of notes, books, and magazines to accompany the lot. Included but not limited to: Normal Rockwell's America book, copy 1674 of 8000. Includes book certificate. Leather bound and includes four small prints. Polaroid of Norman Rockwell and personal note regarding the piece signed by artist stating this was a sketch/study and served as a guide for the full painting. Book titled Normal Rockwell Illustrator by Arthur L. Guptill, which features the painting on page 112. Copy of November/December 1973 The Saturday Evening Post with a feature article on Norman Rockwell. 2006 volume of Russell's West Quarterly pamphlet features the piece and an article on page 4 as a feature piece from when the oil was on loan to the Charles Russell museum in 2005.
