L.A. Huffman (1854-1931) Collection of five photos of the Sioux tribe, circa 1878. Largest is 5.5" x 3.75". Description inscribed on back of photos, including Spotted Eagle Sioux; Rain in the Face, "supposed to have killed Custer Hunkappappa [sic] Sioux; Sioux Village on the Tongue River, 1878; Cast off wife of Chief "Hump" Sioux; Mrs. Rain in the Face. Each have Huffman Miles, Mon. stamp in lower left corner. $1,500-2,500 Provenance: Former Private Collection of Pierre Wibaux (Roubaix 1858, Chicago, 1913).Fine condition.
