Navajo Rug
10'9" x 5'3" early Red Mesa rug featuring two rows of concentric diamond water bug motifs. These motifs are evenly laid out on a finely hand-carded light grey-tan field. The border is a meandering design done in old gold green and ivory white on a variegated black background. Woven from very finely handspun Native long-staple Churro sheep wool. Hand-carded and hand-dyed by the weaver. Just professionally cleaned. Circa 1915.

Condition
A/b sides. Side B is yellowed throughout, more so on one end. Side A shows the same yellowing only near one corner. Remnants of corner tassels visible. Five small stains visible on Side A, isolated to its own side. Side B shows quarter sized stain on one end, isolated to its own side. Side B also has three additional dime sized stains toward opposite end, isolated to its own side.
