• Lot Description
  Risqué punch-line. The old codgers, replete with an ample lunch followed by some vintage brandy recount tales which are quite improper for the ears of the ladies present. For your consideration is a Vintage 1959 Italian porcelain figurine by artist Giuseppe Cappe called "The Gossips". The highly detailed sculpture is signed on the back of the base "G. Calle", and stamped "1959" on the bottom. The piece was made mainly from bisque porcelain,only the lower rim of the base is cream colored glazed porcelain with gilttrim. It has an oval shaped base measuring approx. 6 ⅜” by 6 ¼” (maximum), and 5" at it's tallest. The piece is in excellent condition with great colors and an intact cigar. This estate find is free of any chips, cracks, crazing scratches or other signs of damage. If you have any questions, please ask. Thanks for looking!
