The surface is flat with no distortions. The canvas has been lined to a linen support with a wax adhesive. The canvas is stretched to its original wood stretcher that is in good condition. The surface is covered with an evenly applied layer of varnish with a semi-gloss sheen.
Under UV light (ultraviolet light) the surface appears to be clean and cleared of oxidized varnish. There are several areas of inpainting. Notable dots of inpainting fluoresce in numerous areas throughout the surface. The inpainting is small and intended to minimize small losses to the paint layers. There is also an area of inpainting in the upper left corner that includes the same dots but also a thin wash of inpainting. A third is along the frame edge in the upper right, that was likely a loss caused by framing. The artist signature in the lower right is clearly visible and un-altered. The previous restoration appears to have remedied any issues and was done with a thoughtful approach.
This painting is in excellent condition with no visible condition issues.
