Locati is pleased to offer the Bob Goode Collection of Japanese Netsuke, which consists of nearly 100 lots of examples from the Edo period to modern examples. Highlights include examples by Sakai Masami, Clive Hallam, Issho, Toshu, Hasagawa Masayuki, Sergey Chernyavkiy, Kazuo Mizutani, and Haritsu. The first half of the auction will feature The Madge Goldman Trust Collection which includes Inuit art, American art glass, and fine prints including works by Dale Chihuly, Le Corbusier, Fernand Leger, Havery K. - Lot Description
Nine Netsuke, comprising: a large lotus leaf in wood, a piece of natural bamboo, a piece of bamboo that is a seal, a chrysanthemum on top of shell in ceramic, a winnow with eggplants in wood, a buddha hand citrus with blossom in wood, a piece of natural wood in wood, a frog sitting on a lotus leaf, and a grouping of lotus waterfowl crayfish and insects in wood.
Dimensions: from the piece of natural wood at 36mm x 17mm , to the large lotus leaf at 70mm x 16mm
Provenance: The collection of Bob Goode, Philadelphia.
Condition
The frog on the lotus has a couple chips to the edge of the leaf, otherwise good condition with expected surface wear.
