Locati, LLC is proud to present American Furniture and Silver from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix, Jr. He was a lifelong collector of American material culture with a particular fondness of furniture, coin silver, and Oriental rugs. His collection reflects his interest in the Delaware Valley, with an emphasis on mid 18th through early 19th century silversmiths and figured hardwoods vetted by his discerning eye for form and surface. Fourteen total pieces, all Philadelphia makers: Two matching fiddle thread gravy ladles by Thomas Fletcher (1787-1866) with hallmarks and marked“TF” “P”, “Stevenson” engraved to the back of the handle, a 4” fiddle-thread shell salt by Thomas Fletcher marked “TF” “P” with hallmarks, a 6” serving spoon by R.W Wilson, fiddle form, two 4” salts by John C Farr c. 1830, fiddle with shovel form bowl, “J.C FARR” mark, “Wagner” engraved to the top of the handle, two 4” salts by Bailey and Kitchen circa 1840, fiddle thread with shell terminal and gold wash bowl, “B&K” mark as well as hall marks, a 3 1/2” salt by Jacob Stockman c. 1840, fiddle form, two 4” fiddle salts by R.W Wilson, a pair of 3 1/2” salts by R.W Wilson with leaf decorated drop and shelll terminals, and a 4” salt by Robert Dunlevy, fiddle thread shell, with plumstead family crest at the back of the handle
