- Lot Description
A Partial Set of Chinese Export Porcelain Tableware
A circa 1790 set, each decorated with gilt and blue elements and with central EMB monogram, comprising: eleven 2 1/2in cups, two 5 1/2in tall tea caddies, one 4 1/2in covered sugar, nine 5in bowls, one 7 1/2in plate, and one 9 1/2in plate. The lot also includes a pair of 10in plates in a different pattern and a pair of 9 1/2in plates with central basket of flowers decoration.
Condition
Only one of the plates is free of damage, the others are chipped or cracked, one plate has significant loss, four of the cups are free of damage, the others has either chips or cracks, all of the bowls have chips, some with cracks and one has an old repair, the sugar bowl has chips, cracks and repairs and one caddy is in good condition, both caddy lids are chipped and the other caddy has significant loss at the opening.
