David-Simon Dayan (b. Los Angeles, USA) is a self-taught photographic artist. His portraits explore contemporary queer expressions of identity and partnership. His work, often focusing on the male form, maintains a sense of intimacy, either in a voyeuristic fashion, photographing queer lives in action, or meeting the gaze of a subject, capturing the invitation to see and document the ephemeral.
His fine art and fashion photography, often including recognizable queer figures, has been featured in several prominent publications such as Flaunt, Paper, Out, Vogue and W Magazine. In 2020, his first solo show, "BALLERINO," was meant to open at The Love Bizarre, Los Angeles, but due to Covid-19, has yet to take place. Dayan's work "Two Male Dancers/BALLERINO (I)" is housed in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, alongside his others; "BRAD," "CORONA," and "LOLLIPOP."
