Inkjet, silkscreen and metallic leaf on Hannemuhle paper.
Anthony Aziz and Sammy Cucher have been life partners and artistic collaborators since 1992. They work across media from digital imaging to video-installations, tapestries, and print-making.
Their work has been exhibited and collected by major institutions nationwide and internationally, including The New Museum (New York), San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (Madrid), Center for Heritage and Textiles (Hong Kong), Maison Europeene de La Photograhie (Paris) and many others.
Their recent multi-channel video installation “You’re Welcome and I’m Sorry” was commissioned by MASS MoCA and was exhibited there in 2019/2020.
The “Study for Pyramid Scheme” (2020) is one of a series of works derived from “You’re Welcome and I’m Sorry”, which takes and absurdist, humorous and terrifying look at the mystification surrounding contemporary financial systems.Dimension
