The Clown

Glass, silver nitrate, copper mesh.
Hand-ladled glass mirrors coated made using a traditional process in which glass is coated with silver nitrate. The works are embedded with various materials—in this case heat resistant copper mesh and orbs of glass some of which explode as the hot glass engulfs them. The combination of disturbances may be read as faces or tumescent punctuation. Because of the material accumulation within these mirrors they do not reflect the outside world, rather they interrupt our narcissism to reflect an interior cosmos.
