c.1912; open face case having serial #156923, nickel lever movement, 31-jewels, 8-adjustments, bi-metallic compensation balance, white enamel dial, Arabic chapter markers with an outer minute chapter ring in red, inset subsidiary seconds dial at the six o'clock position, gold foliate hands; dial marked 'Spaulding & Co'; back cover of case initialed FKH (Frank K Hoover of Hoover Vacuum); inside back cover marked 'PP.Co', '18Kts' and '270987'; dust cover engraved 'Spaulding & Co, Chicago', 'No 156923' and 'Presented to Frank K Hoover Chicago, Ill By his Brother J W Hoover August 25th, 1913'; inside dust cover marked '18K' and '270987; movement marked 'Patek Philippe & Co, No 156923, Geneva, Switzerland', 'thirty one, 31 jewels, eight (8) adjustments' and 'Spaulding & Co, Chicago'; with a 14k gold watch chain
