African Fang Reliquary Carved Wood Figures
(3) items including a male having brass eyes and bead work along the top, stone beads wrapped around the waste and metal rings wrapped around the arms and ankles, mounted on a contemporary wood base; female having brass eyes and belly button, possibly from the Betsi group; and a male figure having braided hair
Provenance: The Estate of George 'Yorgo' Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000
