probably Virginia or Maryland, circa 1790, mahogany, mahogany veneer, yellow pine secondary, three part form, hood features a swan neck pediment, the frieze bearing a three part bookend inlays above two inlaid compass stars, the painted metal face with eight day brass driven movement with seconds dial and date aperture, painted dial stamped on back plate "Osbornes Manufactories, Bermingham, England;" the waist with single hinged door featuring a flame burlwood veneer and upper corners with inlaid quarter fans, chamfered corners with intwined line inlay, base with quarter fan inlay and repeating intwined string inlay to styles, raised on ogee bracket foot base; pendulum, two weights, two clock winding keys, one skeleton key.100 x 22 x 11 in.Back boards with rose head nails.Originally from the Derflinger family estate located in Bloomfield and Ashburn, VA, through family descent to the current consignor.
There appears to be restoration to the lower part of the bonnett.
