early 19th century, probably hongmu (rosewood) or zitanwood, with stepped crest rail above the curved splat and seat set within a rectangular frame, four legs flanked by shaped beaded aprons and spandrels on the front and sides and joined by stepped stretchers and a front footrest.41.5 x 20.5 x 16.5 in.Good estate condition with some minor wear and spots of fading to the wood.
