oil on canvas (lined), unsigned, likely circa 1700, featuring an unidentified coat of arms at lower left, presented in a later frame with carved and applied gilt ornaments.SS 52.25 x 37 in.; DOA 59 x 43.5 in.This portrait serves as a fashion plate for court dress of late 17th and early 18th centuries - she wears a mantua gown of ivory and yellow brocade with lace trim and a frelange style headdress, jewels adorn her hair down to her fingers.Stable, yet extensive, craquelure; scattered paint flakes; scattered re-touch; yellowing varnish; some rubbing to frame.
