mid-18th century, mahogany, rare form, utlizing mechanical tilt top, with single six inch drop side, moveable inset horizontal book or work support, columnar form standard, tripod base with raised paw feet on casters; the rectangular drafting top connects to the standard using a swivel mechanism.38 x 27 x 23.5 in.Some shrinkage cracks to top; shrinkage crack to one leg at knee; crack at lower standard by leg joints; with later iron support.
