oil on canvas, signed at lower right, retaining a Boyer Galleries label on the verso, inscribed 2023 and No6 on the stretcher bars, presented in the likely original carved and painted frame.SS 14.5 x 17.5 in.; DOA 23.25 x 26.25 in.Boyer Galleries opened on December 4, 1936 with an exhibition featuring work by Burliuk and other American artists. Philip Boyer, director of the gallery, would mount at least two one-man shows for Burliuk before shuttering the gallery in 1940.Boyer Galleries, New York, NY (possibly included in the 1939 or 1940 exhibition of Burliuk's work)Obscuring varnish; surface grime; some minor chipping to frame; possible re-touch along proper right side of canvas.
