31 in. curved blade stamped (TH)OMAS GRISW(O)LD & CO. / NEW ORLEANS on the ricasso, leather washer below the brass guard, file marks above the quillon, the wooden grip bound with twisted brass wire, the pommel cap etched with a crude cross. Housed in a replacement steel scabbard.Wear to the manufacturer's stamp; heavily nicked blade with light oxidation; splits to the wooden grip; wire intact; old toning to the brass; uncomfortably tight fit in the scabbard.
