Tang dynasty style, carved from a single piece of wood, no gilding or decoration remains, Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, stands carved onto a two-tiered base, the body is decorated in traditional style with elegant layered robes, beaded necklace with a flower in the center, crown and hair styled in a rolled bun on the top, eyes are almost closed in meditation, and he is holding a flower in raised right hand and a vase in the left hand.59.5 in.Good condition with appropriate wear for age; one deep crack down the back from neck to base.
