carved marble, inscribed "EBG 72."20 x 13 x 8 in.A resident of Union, New Jersey, Eugene Gauss became noted for modernist style portrait and figure sculpture. From 1941 to 1942 and in 1960, he exhibited his work at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.Some surface scratches especially towards base.
