About Artwork: This triptych is the start of a new series by Elizabeth Orleans surrounding the concept of home. She is interested in the memories, places, people and feelings of belonging associated with one's dwellings. In this case the symbolic features evoke a sense of protection. The eye is watching. The snake may be feared but represents transformation. Peering through the keyhole one wonders where is the key? Together these three houses speak to the feeling of safety and complexity of home.
About Artist: Elizabeth N. Orleans grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and later earned a Master of Fine Arts from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, CA, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from Tulane University in New Orleans. She has also studied at various renowned institutions such as Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Clayworks in Santa Fe, and Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, among others. In 2004, Orleans was selected to create a large-scale, site-specific ceramic installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Rosa, CA, which was featured in Ceramics Monthly and shown at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco. Over the years, she has recreated this installation in locations like the West Hollywood Library and two private residences in Brentwood, CA. Now based in Venice Beach, CA, Orleans continues to push the boundaries of ceramics, creating abstract, organic forms that explore themes of growth, the human body, and time, with her work often compared to that of artists like Yayoi Kusama and Louise Bourgeois.

Artwork will not be made available for pick up or delivery unless or until the Museum receives in clear funds all amounts payable to it.
With notice to Museum, you may elect to pick up the Artwork from the Museum’s main address at 307 Cliff Drive beginning Monday, March 3rd . Please call 949 494-8971 or artauction@lagunaartmuseum.org to schedule pick up.
Artworks remaining at Museum after March 9th that have not been arranged for pick will be sent to Elite Art Enterprises, LLC in the Los Angeles area to assist with delivery, installation, crating, shipping, storage or any other needs you might have in regard to transportation of your newly acquired artworks. Fees for the above services are set and collected by Elite Art Enterprises, LLC.

O: (562) 319-8060If you fail to make arrangements to retrieve artwork either by pick up or delivery after fifteen (15) business days of the Fall of the Hammer, the Museum will be entitled to exercise remedies available under the law.
Insurance: Once the hammer falls, the risk associated with the artwork is transferred to the buyer. Hence, the buyer is solely responsible for arranging insurance coverage for the artwork. The Museum does not provide transit insurance for artworks sold through auctions. If you request delivery of the artwork, the Museum will not be responsible for any loss or damage caused during transit.
