Victor Huguet is a painter of French nineteenth century. He was a student of Emile Loubon at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and of the Orientalist painter Eugène Fromentin in Paris . Huguet made his first trip to Egypt in 1852 at the age of seventeen and the following year traveled with the marine painter Jean-Baptiste Durand-Brager in Crimea. He began exhibiting at the Salon de Marseille and the Paris Salon in 1859 and exhibited his works from 1893 to the Society of French Orientalist painters. Victor Huguet traveled extensively in Algeria, Libya, Egypt and Constantinople, all places that were main sources of inspiration for his works . Over time his work became more impressionistic palette with brighter and richer colors. Victor Huguet died in Paris in 1902. His works are in museums in Nimes, Montpellier and Marseille .
