- A founding member of the Impressionists - "The epitome of true classic Impressionism," this is how art critics remember the work of Armand Guillaumin. Guillaumin never quite reached the fame of his contemporaries, but he and his art were highly regarded amongst his peers: Renoir, Cézanne, Pissarro, Gaughin, Van Gogh, just to name a few. He had solo exhibitions in Galeries Durand-Ruel, Galerie Ambroise Vollard, and Galerie Berheim-Jeune during his lifetime. Guillaumin's work is part of some of the most prominent collections including Musée D'Orsay, the Tate, the Met, & the Art Institute of Chicago. Over 100 years later Impressionist art remains some of the most recognizable, beloved, and valuable.
