From a collection of works on paper by a former print curator of the Marquette University Art Museum, 20 3/4" by 14 3/4" visible total image 22 3/4" by 18 3/4" 13.5 by 9.25 Plate Line Page 237 from a Book. Artist N. Vanni Lithographer P. Campagna Also printed Palma Romano Palma Napolitano.
After Giovanni Morghen Antiquities of Heculaneum Copper-line engraving. C1770. 250mm by 350mm (platemark). Wall-painting from Herculaneum. From 'Le Antichita di Ercolano' (The Antiquities of Heculaneum), which was a collection of images of archeological finds from the excavations at the Roman city of Herculaneum. It was published over a 40 year period from 1744 to 1792 as the excavations continued. Many different artists and archeologists of the day worked on it. Giovanni Morghen was an Italian engraver, the son of a lace merchant of Montpellier of German origin, who settled at Florence. " Item #803
