• Lot Description

  Edgar Degas (1834-1917) active/lived in France. Ballet Dancer, charcoal drawing 8.125" X 13". frame outer dimensions 18" X 22". Important Atlanta collection, purchased from Anthony Lawson, dealer in London in 2008, Marcus Oliver December 1935 purchased from Collection of Constantin Redko. Available provenance e-mail correspondence and copies of the letter from Konstantin Redko to Marcos Oliver December 1935. Drawing is not in the catalog Raisonne but the dancer appears to be the same person as at least two authenticated drawings by Degas circa 1885. Drawing is floated in current frame with no evidence of previous mounting material.
