Ca.- 1850 - A walrus shepherd's crook handle, natural striations and patina, handle has hand carved high relief designs at base, handle unscrews and a solid whale bone 18 1/4" conductor's baton carved in a spiral groove pattern is pulled from the shaft, it has a Mother of Pearl disc inlaid on top, probably French and a matching bone ferrule. H.- 3 1/2"x4 5/8", O.L.- 34 7/8".
