- Lot Description
ca1750; Niello (a black mixture of copper, silver, and lead sulphides, used as an inlay on engraved or etched metal) sterling handled sword cane; large double edged blade; leather shaft; I would call this Russian or caucus, on boarder with Russia There seems to be writing on the handle, Persian. Massive blade, as heavy as the samurai blade. Shaft is oval wood with leather on outside. You can see shaft was made in two pieces and glued together, some give toward the bottom when you squeeze it together. H- 4" X 1 3/4" O.L.- 35 1/2"
