Folk-crafted political cane of 1844, naming (Henry) Clay and (Theodore) Frelinghuysen as running mates (for U. S. President and Vice President, respectively). Henry Clay of Kentucky was the Whig party's presidential nominee in 1844, after having lost his bid for U. S. President in 1840 to William Henry Harrison. This cane has block lettering identifying the running mates and some slogans painted in red (showing some wear over time) on a simple light brown wood shaft. No lower end ferrule. O. L. is 33".
Each auction has different shipping terms but the buyer always pays.
