Gentleman's formal shirt collar bar from the 1930s, gifted by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This one is extra special in appearing like a 'show cane'. Such is a riding crop held by a rider atop a highly trained horse, for a more elegant presentation and not for punishment. The 2 ¼" bar features a curved middle shaft of gold coloration, a finely-grained antler handle of silver color on one end, and the crop's flapper in plated gold on the other end. This vintage collar bar is presented in its original clasped and blue-dyed leather box, where it is tucked in a pocket of felt lining. 'Abercrombie & Fitch Co. New York' is printed in gold on the upper silk lining. The outside top of the blue leather box is imprinted in gold lettering: J. M. from the President F.D.R. There are some scuffs to the leather on the top and bottom of the box, but these do not obscure especially the printed presentation on its top. O. L. of the box is 3 ½".
Each auction has different shipping terms but the buyer always pays.
