ca1890; (o.l. 27.5"); A very fine gun cane with a mechanism similar to Days patent; The rounded integral frame with smooth, matching, gunmetal-gray surfaces and its original lock components: pop-out trigger and semi-flush fitting hammer with a button-type spur; trigger dropping down into firing position when cocked; Retains its original nipple along with a strong mainspring and its original components. The shepherd's crook handle is signed “H. JACOBS” on the end of handle. The original ram rod connects to a 3” ferrule and is 27 1/2” overall length, tapered and with screw ball puller at the narrow end and a brass retractor at wide end; Front of bbl is mounted with small bead, with larger shaped bead rear sight near handle. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains most of a plum-brown over numerous rust spots and freckling. Handle is toned to light brown. Mechanism works. Looking down the muzzle of this intimidating cane gun would certainly give pause to any would-be molester
