- Lot Description
England; Percussion cane gun. An early gun with percussion ignition. Approximately 20 ga bore. Some cane guns get a bit complicated. Not this one. You put the cap on, pull the cocking knob exposing nipple and firing cap, pull the trigger and it goes bang. This is very old and looks it's age. Likely some sort of finish was put on it many years ago. Nearly all of that has worn off. It could possibly be orig finish but I don't know? The Day's patent usually had a rather quick twist for the cane grip and like the others we have seen this has a removable stock. The stock is in VG cond with the exception that it was evidently dropped or used as a club and broken. A nice repair has been done with a couple of brass plates used as mending strips on each side.
