Narrative Folk-Art Cane – Dated 1846 - “With two alone of all the friends who owns his pious care Aaron the priest the mount and dies in sill in narrow way with glittering blade the angel ballams progress stayed when madly blind he forward pressed to curse the men whom God had witnessed in the desert waste and whd hagger mourned her fainting God in love her spirit cheerd and a well insight appeared safe in the care of God on high the Hebrew child poor and weak. Low in the ark was seen to lie with smiles upon the infant cheek to show that God will stand against his people’s sin + Moses behold the promise land but may not enter in sin.” Also carved in the cane “John Brunning Shephard’s Pakanlian Robert Frost age 28 1846 His Stick June 13th All Well” and a small brass ferrule.
