312. Physicians Folk-Art Cane – Ca. 1870 – A masterpiece of folk-art carving, the cane has a caduceus carved in bone inlayed under the handle and above the handle the owner to the cane was “F.L. Bardeen”, in a true master’s hand the following items appear throughout the shaft: a large four-story federal building, elephant, elf, musical notes, long-legged bird, man riding a goose, plucked chicken, grave Masonic emblem, banners, skeleton, and more. Various names appear throughout the shaft which are carved in a very fine hand and a metal ferrule. O.L. – 34.5” / $700-$1000
