14. Silver Dog Head Cane -Ca. 1890 -Beautifully modeled, heavily cast and finely hand chased wire-haired dog head with a belt collar and a twist rope ring. Way out of the ordinary and mainly marked by two superb eyes looking in the distance, this dog head study is Animalier art at its best. The shape of the tiny obscured hallmark discreetly placed close to the buckle on the belt collar hints to a French parentage. The knob is complimented by a well-streaked and richly colored rosewood shaft and a stag horn ferrule. -H. 2” x 1 ¾”, O.L. 36 ½” -$1,400-$1,800
