Connecticut, probably Norwich area, early 19th century
The red surface of the cherrywood with very early probably original reddish wash, the hinged slant-lid opening to a fitted interior with pigeonholes and drawers, above four graduated drawers with Sandwich glass knobs, on turned legs ending in flattened ball feet.
H. 28 1/2 in., W. 23 1/2 in., D. 12 in.
Provenance: Estate of Pat Roberts of New Preston CT., Acquired from The Antiques Marketplace in Putnam, Ct. in 2000 for $5100.00. The original receipt accompanies the lot
Condition: Posts of the glass pulls replaced; each of the two flanking pigeonholes is missing a vertical and horizontal divider above a small drawer; one of the missing drawer faces remains), age appropriate loss and wear to paint. Please
