Richard Zakin (1937-2018) Studio Art Pottery Handmade Carved Abstract Sculptural Vase Rare, one of a kind handmade abstract porcelain form with a hand-tooled design. Excellent original condition. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Vase is 8 1/2" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 2" deep. Signed R Zakin Oct 1977 on base. Richard Zakin (1937-2018) was a legendary ceramic artist, author, and educator. His book, Ceramics: Mastering the Craft and Ceramics: Ways of Creation showed his love for the medium and its history. Throughout his long career, Zakin explored a range of expressive glazes and ceramic surfaces that sometimes include unique and abstract designs. Rare find.
